Renowned Canadian poet and translator Erín Moure has been distinguised as “Doutora Honoris Causa” by the University of Vigo. The formal ceremony will take place on June 22, 2016 at noon. This distinction is awarded in recognition for her outstanding multilingual poetic production; her dedicated and fruitful efforts to transcultural understanding in her role as translator; her activist support in defense of linguistic, ethnic and sexual minorities; and for her contribution to the international appreciation of Galician cultural heritage.
